Welcome to the East Meets West collection of Jotobags!

Every item is handcrafted in Japan from contemporary kimono fabric. The traditional designs, intricate patchwork and beautiful colors blend together to create an elegant, wearable piece of art.

Each handbag and table runner is the result of a collaborative effort by a group of artists, working to the highest standards of craftsmanship and design. It’s fitting, then, that we call them jotobags — “joto” means “excellent” in Japanese.

You’ll find a special cloth called a furoshiki included in each bag. Traditionally, the Japanese have used these fabrics to wrap gifts. You may choose to do the same, or use it inside your bag to carry jewelry, cosmetics or other small items.

I’m honored to share this collection with you, and hope you find as much joy in its beauty as I do.
